Dune Trail on Lake Michigan

Historic Leland Fish Town
Arbor Woods is located in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes national Lakeshore on the Leelanau Peninsula, 25 miles West of Traverse City. The park is filled with coastal sand dunes and bluffs, scenic drives, sandy beaches and rivers, cherry and apple orchards, wineries, quaint hometown shops, lighthouses and golf courses. Climb to the peaks of huge sand dunes and look out over Lake Michigan or take a ride on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive to see breathtaking views of the lakeshore. Beachcombing, kayaking, fishing, biking and cross-country skiing are just a few of the outdoor pursuits available.
Glen Arbor features numerous specialty shops, resorts, galleries and restaurants. Within a short drive are the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, and Empire. From nearby Leland, known by the locals as "Fishtown", you can see the history of this old fishing village and partake of your own fishing experience by hiring a Lake Michigan fishing charter. For the adventurous, take a ferry from Leland to the Manitou Islands for a day of hiking and exploring. Within a 30 minute drive of the homes are numerous golf courses, hiking trails, cross country and downhill ski areas.
